So I have spent this entire week trying to figure out how to set up a classroom. mary, mary, dustin, casey, I know you are all doing the same thing. is it as stressful for you?? I just walk into there and it is instantly overwhelming. annie came to save the day today and has way better spacial reasoning so helped me figure some things out. but really what are you all doing?? how are you setting up your desks? in table groups? e's? or rows? i can't decide. plus really, i feel overwhelmed by like 5 sets of curriculum. i just need some help i guess or better how you are all dealing with this same story.
let me know.
hope all is well!

Yes, I totally feel the same way Jacq! It's like I will have all of these plans for getting things done but then I'll walk into the class and feel like I have 800 things to do and can't even begin to decide which I'd like to start on!
It's getting better now, minus the fact that I can't get the right desks in my room. And the fact that I keep getting loaded up with more curriculum. I have to teach some social skills lessons and have class meetings, according to the counselor. There is a completely new math curriculum (to all of Seattle) PLUS a new writing curriculum that Lowell is doing. (My teachers told the principal that they were NOT going to be doing two new things though, so they are only doing the writing while I play the guinea pig!) One fabulous thing that has happened at Lowell. (This isn't a district-thing, but a school-thing.) I get a lot of PTA money that will reimburse me for things that I buy for my class. I have to leave the items (or use them up!) at the school, so I'm being careful not to use my PTA money on books or other cool stuff that I might want to keep if I move on from Lowell!
Best of luck in moving in and setting up your rooms!!! I'm doing groups, not Es, and definitely not rows! What are we, MIDDLE SCHOOL teachers! :)
